• SB 1001 (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code 17940-17943): we adopted the bot-disclosure safe harbor even though the prohibition arguably doesn't apply to an informational assistant, because the cost is one sentence and it kills the applicability argument outright.

• AB 489 (effective Jan 1 2026): binds Brite as a deployer, not just our subprocessor OpenAI, and reaches product functionality, not just the splash screen.
